ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County students will soon have more educational opportunities.

The Walt Disney World Resort announced they would donate $100,000 for STEM education in Orange County Public Schools.

This announcement came as the theme park held its grand opening for TRON Lightcycle/Run on Tuesday.

OCPS Superintendent Dr. Maria Vazquez said the funding would create long-lasting moments for teachers and students.

Rena Langley, senior vice president of communications and public affairs, said Disney hopes to support students’ futures with hands-on learning so they can use those skills and reach their goals.

During the past 18 months, Disney World celebrated its 50th Anniversary and has donated over $6.5 million to local nonprofits.
