VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 21-year-old woman from Oregon was bitten by a shark Thursday morning, according to Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue.

Officials said the incident happened just before 11:30 a.m. near the 2000 block of Daytona Beach Shores.

The woman was wading in about 4 feet of water when she was bitten on the foot, officials said.

According to beach safety, her lacerations were non-life-threatening.

The woman was not taken to a hospital and the shark was not seen.
This is the second shark bite so far this year.
