I-4 reopens after wildfire forces closure in Volusia County, officials say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — All lanes of I-4 have reopened after a wildfire forced them to close in Volusia County, officials said.

Eastbound lanes were closed near mile marker 123 due to the fire. Westbound lanes were closed from I-95 to State Road 44 but have since reopened, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Drivers were forced to turn around due to heavy smoke in the area.

As of 7 p.m. Saturday, officials said the fire is 95% contained.

No structures were in danger.

The cause of the wildfire is not known.
