WATCH: Volusia County deputy hit in back by another driver during traffic stop

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Volusia County Sheriff released video Thursday night showing a life-threatening encounter with one of their deputies.

A deputy was pulling over a car in the Edgewater area when he was nearly hit by another driver.

Body camera video shows a fast-moving truck speed by and strike the deputy in the back, officials said.

Officials said the deputy is unhurt, but they decided to share the video to remind drivers to use caution around law enforcement and first responders.

Florida law also requires drivers to move over a lane or slow down for any stopped emergency, sanitation or utility service vehicles.
