DELAND, Fla. — Volusia County deputies said a man died after he was shot multiple times by gunmen Friday afternoon.
Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said the man was killed by several gunmen in DeLand.

Chitwood said the shooting happened at around 4:34 p.m. on Ida Street.

Deputies said the man was approached by the shooters, who may have had covers over their heads, before they opened fire while he was inside a vehicle.
Deputies did not provide a description of the gunmen.
