Stetson University to start fall classes without face mask requirements

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Stetson University will not require face masks in classrooms when students return in the fall.

The school said the fall semester will start outside of the university’s COVID-19 tier system.

School officials said they will continue to follow state Department of Health guidelines for isolation, and that testing measures will be determined over the summer, depending on the health situation at the time.

“The Stetson Safer Campus Task Force will continue to monitor local, state and global concerns around COVID-19, and it will continue to communicate adjustments if there are changes that escalate the health concern to our community,” officials said.
