Volusia County Beach Safety is flying the red flag on the coast, warning beachgoers about strong rip currents. Officials urge people going in the water to swim near a lifeguard.

Officials said there were no water rescues over the weekend, but one person, an Altamonte Springs man, was bitten by a shark.
