Several people hurt, including child, after car crashes into ocean at Daytona Beach, lifeguards say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Lifeguards in Daytona Beach said several people were hurt after a car drove into the ocean Sunday in Daytona Beach.

Official said the crash happened 5 p.m. on International Speedway Boulevard approach near A1A.

The car crashed into a tollbooth and onto the beach before driving into the water, beach safety officials said.

Lifeguards believe the driver may have had a medical issue before the crash.

It’s unclear how may people were hurt, but a child was one of the victims who were injured, lifeguards said.
