“Family has the utmost concern, but we are right there with them,” said Port Orange Police Sgt. Steven Nagy. “We’re trying to do everything in our power to find him.”

We’re continuing to ask for the community’s help in searching for Mr. Heikka. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wesh.com/amp/article/port-orange-missing-teacher-bob-heikka/34633547

No one knows where Heikka went or what happened. They said he has no history of running away.

The computer teacher at Creekside Middle School never showed up for work on the morning of Oct. 25.

His absence worried staff at the school- who said it was out of character for the 70-year-old, 30-year employee- so they checked his home.

When they weren’t able to find Heikka there, they called police

Detectives say Heikka was last seen withdrawing money from an ATM in Cocoa Beach on Oct. 24 while driving his white 2012 Chevrolet Impala.

He didn’t withdraw a significant amount of cash and no one else was with him, according to police.

Detectives say his cell phone pinged back in Volusia County the next day.
