Police release names of Daytona Beach couple brutally stabbed to death, suspect at large

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Daytona Beach Police Department is investigating the brutal stabbing of a Daytona Beach couple that happened early Sunday morning.

Police are looking for any information that could lead them to the person who killed the married couple.

Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young told Channel 9 that the couple was riding their bikes back home from Main Street when someone attacked them.

Police said, on Sunday, someone found the couple near Wild Olive Avenue and Riverview Boulevard, stabbed several times with their throats slashed.

Police have identified the couple as Daytona Beach residents, 48-year-old Terry Aultman and 55-year-old Brenda Aultman.

Police spent much of the day Sunday and Monday morning going door to door trying to find a witness or video of what happened.

So far no one has come forward.

Police have also moved their mobile command unit from where it was on Main Street to help with the Bike Week crowds to now focus on this double murder.

“We will spare no expense and leave no stone unturned in order to solve this case,” Young said. “I assure you that our detectives are doing all they can to bring justice to the loved ones of these victims.”

Police do not know who would target this couple or why.

“Right now, we can rule out robbery because all their valuables were still on them,” Young added.

Police are looking for a man with a backpack seen in the area who officers say is a person of interest in this case.
