VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Monday afternoon update:
Volusia County detectives said they have identified a man and a woman wanted since Saturday when the pair tried to break into a room at a Motel 6 in Daytona Beach, resulting in a man being shot in his buttocks as he fled.

Officials said warrants have been issued for Jonathan Charapata, 32, for unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling and Cheyanne Lynn Daigle, 23, for principal to burglary of an occupied dwelling.
Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call 911 and to mention Volusia Sheriff’s Office case No. 21-5697, or to call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-8477.

Volusia County sheriff deputies are investigating a Saturday morning shooting that happened at a Motel 6 in Daytona Beach.
According to deputies, a man and woman tried to break into a room at the Motel 6 at 2992 West International Speedway Blvd. around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Deputies said the room was occupied, and the person inside the room fired at the two people breaking into the room, hitting the man in the buttocks.

According to deputies, the two individuals fled toward the Tomoka Farms Road area and have not been located.
Deputies are looking for a white male in his 30s, about 6 feet tall, wearing matching teal shirt and shorts and a yellow hat. The female suspect is white, about 5′6″ and carrying a black backpack.

This is an open investigation and deputies are working to track down the people involved in this incident.
