Pedestrian killed crossing Volusia County road, troopers say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving a pedestrian in Volusia County.

The crash happened around 10:05 p.m. on Friday near the intersection of State Road A1A and Margaret Drive.

Troopers said a Chrysler Pacifica was traveling northbound on S.R. A1A when a pedestrian walking east crossed directly into the path of the minivan.

The female pedestrian,69, was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.

The 75-year-old driver and the passenger, 69, were not injured and remained at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation.
