Orlando man hit and killed after getting out of car on I-95, troopers say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened on Interstate 95.

The crash happened 3:05 a.m. on Saturday in Volusia County.

According to troopers, a 35-year-old Orlando man was heading southbound on I-95, and for an unknown reason became stuck in the center median.

Troopers said the man exited his vehicle and attempted to wave down a passing motorist for assistance.

The man was hit by a Jeep SUV also traveling southbound on I-95, troopers said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation.
