One person killed in mobile home fire in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — One person was killed in a mobile home fire in Volusia County early Tuesday morning.

Deputies said firefighters and deputies responded around 12:35 a.m. to 114 Ash Street near Edgewater after neighbors awoke to see the mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

Deputies said once the fire was put out they found the deceased person inside the home. Officials said they believe the person to be the 70-year-old man who lived in the mobile home, but positive identification is still pending and may not be officially made for several days.

Investigators said there were no signs of foul play at the scene, and the initial findings indicate the fire was accidental.
