Homicide investigation underway after discovery of 69-year-old’s body at Daytona Beach motel, deputies say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Initially treated as a death investigation, the discovery of a 69-year-old’s body in the room of a Daytona Beach motel is now being looked at as a homicide, according to deputies.

Officials originally found the body of convicted child sex offender Marc Pinder on Feb. 28 at the Bird’s Nest Motel.

Investigators said his 2006 black Saab was missing from the motel.

Suspect information has not yet been released.
