Girl dies, 2 other girls hospitalized after overdosing at Holly Hill home

HOLLY HILL, Fla. — A girl died and two other girls were hospitalized Tuesday evening after overdosing at a home, the Holly Hill Police Department said.

Police were called at about 10 p.m. Tuesday to a home on Tuscaloosa Avenue near Ridgewood Avenue after the girls, each aged between 15 and 16 years old, had overdosed.

The girls were taken to Halifax Health Medical Center before being taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

“One of the juvenile females did not survive and has since expired,” police said in a news release.

Holly Hill police, the state attorney’s office and the Florida Department of Children and Families continue to investigate the overdoses.
