February 28, 2025, is the date for the sentencing hearing before Kathryn D. Weston, Circuit Court Judge of the S. James Foxman Justice Center.

Gilland is accused of shooting and killing her terminally ill husband inside AdventHealth hospital in Daytona Beach.

Expressing that she could not follow through with the pact forged with her husband, Gilland was supposed to kill herself as well, but she couldn’t do it.

Instead, she barricaded herself in her husband’s hospital room and fired shots at hospital staff and police.

The events resulted in the hospital having to shut down a floor with terminally ill patients, which also put their lives at risk.
