This year, Daytona Beach city leaders have been working on ways to better control crowds after community members said pop-up events, like the truck meet, sparked fights and packed the roads.
The city’s mayor posted on Facebook after the 2021 truck meet that he’d received many complaints about it and wanted to be sure it did not happen again.
