DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Police shut down a section a section of road after a shooting Saturday afternoon in Daytona Beach.
Officers said North Halifax Avenue was closed between Jessamine and University boulevards.

Several officers responded to the area and shut down the roadway, not far from a fire station and Colin Park.
Officers have since reopened the roadway.
Police said “a suspect is in custody.”

Officers said the shooting started after an argument between two people.
The shooting occurred in the area of North Atlantic Avenue and the suspect’s vehicle was spotted near University and Halifax.

An annual truck meet is bringing large numbers of drivers and visitors to the Daytona Beach area.

Earlier Saturday, Daytona Beach police announced the Main Street Bridge is restricted to those with a special pass due to crowds.
