DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach city officials estimate that repairing damage to the Main Street pier will cost about $140,000.
The east end of the pier, which serves as the fishing section, has been closed since March 1 due to a damaged piling underneath.

The city is accepting bids for the work now, and the commission will approve one of them on April 6.
Officials said work should begin once a contract is approved.
