DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — From signs, to dropping off food and donations, the Central Florida community has rallied around the Daytona Beach Police Department and Officer Jason Raynor.
Raynor was shot in the head in the line of duty last week and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

People have been buying up hundreds of signs that say “Daytona Strong Raynor Strong” to show their support for the department and officer.
By Wednesday, 180 signs were gone. The department said it is ordering another 300 that should arrive next week.

“The people in Daytona, we love each other and we are going to continue to work together,” Daytona Beach resident Patricia Heard said.
A white paper inside the Daytona Beach Police Department’s lobby is filled with well wishes for Raynor.

The Daytona Tortugas are doing a 50/50 raffle, silent auction of autographed items and taking online donations during its homestand this weekend to help benefit Raynor and his family.
“For us to play a small part in that and continue to do that and if we can help out in anyway we will continue to do that,” said Jim Joaworksi, with the Daytona Tortugas.

The officer’s GoFundMe page has also raised more than $300,000 on top of the food and cards people have sent to the department to show support.
The union says all of the support has been a huge boost for morale.
