VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County deputies recovered guns and cash from two teens during a traffic stop in DeLand on Sunday.
Deputies said they pulled over a rental car on Sunday, which led to the discovery.
According to deputies, during the traffic stop, 17-year-old Damarion Mims had a KG Model K15 AR pistol concealed under his jacket. Mims also had a 60-round rifle magazine, loaded with 30 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, in his pants.

A handgun was recovered from the waistband of another passenger, 18-year-old Jarmez Hardy, of DeLand.
That gun has no make/model or serial number and is commonly known as a “ghost gun.” It was purchased online, deputies stated.
A Glock Model 17 9mm handgun with an extended 33-round magazine, which was reported stolen in Seminole County in 2020, was found under the front passenger seat of a third passenger who fled the scene.

Mims was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.
Hardy was charged with carrying a concealed firearm.

Charges are pending against the front-seat passenger who fled.
