The two people shot have non-life-threatening injuries, police said. They said four others were hit by shrapnel.

Deputies said they helped Daytona Beach police officers respond to the shooting as well as manage large crowds in the area.
“I know some people were really upset. I’m a little pissed off too about a lot of this too,” Daytona Beach police Chief Craig Capri said. “Let me tell you, we don’t take this lightly, especially with the crowds gathering together. Right now, we have the coronavirus still going around and people not practicing social distancing, but I’m not the social distancing police. That’s not my job.”
Capri said police saw no need to make arrests due to the large crowds because when officers asked people to leave, nearly everyone did.
However, on social media, some people called for arrests, saying the promoters of the original event should be held accountable.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood and Capri said they contacted the organizers when they first heard about the event last week, and the organizers said they did cancel it.
