10-7: Dispatcher reads ‘last call’ for fallen Daytona Beach police officer Jason Raynor

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A public safety dispatcher transmitted the radio broadcast for fallen Daytona Beach police Officer Jason Raynor’s last call.

The last call, also known as a final call, is a formal on-air announcement broadcast to honor an officer who has died in the line of duty.

Raynor was shot in the head in late June by suspected gunman Othal Wallace, while Raynor was responding to a suspicious incident near Kingston Avenue in Daytona Beach.

He died at 8:09 p.m. Tuesday at Halifax Health Medical Center with his family by his side, the police department said.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daytona Beach police Office Jason Raynor ... This afternoon, on August 17, 2021, Officer Jason Raynor succumbed to his in-the-line-of-duty injuries that he sustained on June 23, 2021,” the dispatcher said.
