VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — More than 70 baby sea turtles got a helping hand after heading in the wrong direction on a Volusia County beach.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies overnight helped collect about 75 confused hatchlings that were crawling up a beach approach instead of toward the ocean.
The turtles were turned over to Volusia County officials, who later released them safely back into the Atlantic Ocean.
