Volusia County beaches to close at midnight

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County leaders said all beaches will close at midnight Friday.

Leaders gave the following information regarding the closure:

• All pedestrian and vehicle beach entrances will be closed.
• All walkovers will be closed.
• The lifeguard posts will not be staffed.
• The red flag will be flown, indicating that the beaches are closed.

Leaders said repeat offenders will be charged with a second-degree misdemeanor, which comes with a $500 fine.
