ORLANDO, Fla. — Friends of an Orlando woman who was slain nearly two weeks ago gathered along the shores of Lake Underhill Saturday morning to celebrate her life and call for justice.

Orlando police are still seek the public’s help in generating new leads to help solve the August murder of Olivia Diggs.

Police have yet to name a suspect in the case.

Those closest to Diggs said they’re still puzzled by her grisly death.

“I just pray that this horrible incident is an awakening for people to not take anything for granted, not any moment,” said Angelique Ford, a friend of Diggs.

A Florida Fish and Wildlife officer discovered Diggs’ dismembered body in Lake Underhill Aug. 22, Orlando police said.

Those who attended the vigil said their focus was on remembering the kind spirit of a mother of three who adored her children and whose smile and personality left a lasting impression.

“I'm trying to comprehend it all," said Susan Friel, a friend of Diggs. "But it's very hard to comprehend that anyone would do that to anybody, especially to Olivia."

To help cover burial costs, Diggs' friends created a GoFundMe page.
