Using a space heater? Here’s what you need to know

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A blast of winter is on the way to Central Florida.

Temperatures will drop into the 20s and 30s across Central Florida on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, firefighters are asking people to be careful when using space heaters.

If you plan on using a space heater, there are some things you need to know:

  • Make sure it has a safety listing to ensure that it’s tested and approved.
  • Keep it on a hard, flat surface so it doesn’t tip over.
  • Leave 3 feet of space around it.
  • Never leave it unsupervised.
