ORLANDO, Fla. — If you’re thinking about a career in the military, here’s some news that might float your boat.

The United States Navy recently announced that it’s offering a $25,000 bonus to new enlistees.

But you’ll want to act quickly.

Enlistees would be required to ship out to Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois between now and the end of June.

Active Duty enlistees who are currently scheduled for Basic Training between July and September -- but are willing to report between the months of April and June -- can also take advantage of the $25,000 bonus.

The Navy said it’s the only branch of the military currently offering an enlistment bonus this high.

Depending on an enlistee’s rating, the bonus could climb to as much as $50,000, the U.S. Navy Recruiting Command added.

Prior service members and others who re-enlist to Active Duty may also qualify for the bonus.
