Universal Orlando Resort to increase workers’ starting pay

ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Orlando Resort announced Tuesday that it plans to increase its starting base pay to $17 an hour.

President and COO Karen Irwin announced in a letter to employees that the base pay rate will increase from $15 to $17 an hour as of June 4, 2023.

She said other team members will also get a pay increase based on the new rates and their time with the company.

In the letter, Irwin said the company is also raising its 401K match and tuition reimbursement programs, adding compassion leave, doubling its parental leave, and added to its family planning benefits.
