Universal Orlando files permit to remove roller coaster, documents show

ORLANDO, Fla. — A ride at Universal Studios in Orlando appears to be nearing its end.

Channel 9 obtained a permit submitted by Universal, calling for removing an existing attraction.

A map connected with the permit shows the location of the “Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.”

The roller coaster has been thrilling guests at the theme park since it opened in 2009.

The permit calls for the ride to be replaced with a proposed attraction.

So far, Universal has not said what that may be. Changes will take place in early September 2025.
