ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A University of Central Florida start-up company has developed artificial intelligence to assess customer reviews in real-time for the Orlando tourism industry.
Channel 9's Jamie Holmes found out the computer program can find bad reviews and provide solutions before it effects business.
Emergency, ambulatory surgery and outpatient services received the largest negative feedback, the computer program revealed.
Datanautix is real-time artificial intelligence program that looks over social media posts about good and bad things posted about a business.
"I no longer trust advertising. I no longer trust what you say about your brand. I go and look and see what someone else is saying," said Sanjay Patel, with Datanautix.
The Winter Springs company has been working with companies like Orlando International Airport scan their reputation on social media. The program searches for trends and bigger problems which need attention.
"Our system goes in and says, ‘Here is a developing pattern,’ and we anticipate in a month, in six months, in a year, it's going to be a bigger problem,” Patel said.
Now the company is also working with the Rosen College to analyze the Orlando tourism experience as a whole to see how hotels are doing, as well as the theme parks and traffic in the area.
The information is used to determine what the city can do better to make sure people come back.
“We're trying to figure out how to attract people to come here for tourism, conventions, etc. And we need to understand if they're picking some other place, what is it that made that place outstanding,” Patel said.
