Cartwright’s base salary will increase from $750,000 to $900,000, and he will be eligible for a bonus up to $375,000.

Cartwright thanked Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Legislature for supporting UCF’s effort to become the state’s “premier engineering and technology” university. “It is the future. It’s what we need to be doing for Florida,”

Cartwright said. The UCF Board of Trustees approved the extension last month, but the contract also required approval from the system’s Board of Governors.
