ORLANDO, Fla. — University of Central Florida officials held a Thursday morning meeting to discuss a plan on reopening campus.
The UCF Board of Trustees heard just some of the measures likely to be a part of the foreseeable future along with diagrams of how lecture halls and classrooms might stagger students.
Officials also discussed converting arenas and other large areas into classrooms and encouraging those who may be vulnerable to the coronavirus to work or study remotely.

The campus will remain mostly empty through the summer, but a phased return would bring back staff and research students first before moving to on-campus instruction and student housing.
The trustees were told there will be a major focus on testing and contact tracing. Students may also be offered apps to track their health and who they’ve been in contact with.
