ORLANDO, Fla. — UCF football players will wear a new Walt Disney World logo on the rear bumper of their helmets when the Knights host TCU on Saturday in their Big 12 Conference opener.
UCF Athletics and Walt Disney World Resort unveiled the helmet design Friday ahead of the nationally televised game at Acrisure Bounce House.
The partnership connects two organizations with deep ties to Central Florida. University officials noted that thousands of UCF students and graduates have participated in Disney programs or gone on to work for the company.
“This relationship brings together two organizations with deep roots in our community, tremendous national reach and a shared belief in creating memorable experiences,” UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir said in a statement.
The logo will appear on the back of every UCF football helmet throughout the season, beginning with Saturday’s game against the Horned Frogs, who are making their first visit to the Bounce House.
Walt Disney World officials said the partnership builds on the company’s longstanding relationship with the university and highlights their shared connection to the Central Florida community.
The Knights enter the game looking to begin Big 12 play with a home victory in front of a national audience.
