Two hospitalized following Lake Wales plane crash

LAKE WALES, Fla. — A small plane crashed near the Lake Wales Municipal Airport Wednesday morning sending to people to hospitals.

The plane crashed in a marshy area near the airport around 10:45 a.m., according to a Polk County Fire Rescue representative.

Two adults on the plane were taken by helicopter to hospitals, officials said.

Officials do not yet know what caused the crash and did not release the conditions of the injured people.
