TSA hiring full and part-time security officer positions at Orlando International Airport

ORLANO, Fla. — The Transportation Security Administration is looking to hire full-time and part-time Transportation Security Officer positions at the Orlando International Airport.

The TSA is set to hold a recruiting event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 2-3 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando-International Drive Convention Center.

No prior experience in security or law enforcement is required for applicants.

The hiring event includes a presentation about the TSO role, application assistance, computer-based testing and in-person interviews, according to a news release.

The positions available include paid leave, health care plans for both full-time and part-time employees, tuition assistance, 401k coverage and more.

Starting pay for a TSO at MCO is $17.64 per hour or approximately $36,821 per year.

The TSA is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for positions at OIA; half of the bonus after onboarding and the other half to be received after one year of service.

TSA officials added that on July 2, the TSA is also converting to a new compensation plan that will make TSO salaries significantly more competitive with the implementation of a three-rung, D, E, and F band career ladder.

Officials recommend arriving early as participation in the information session and preliminary hiring process can take between three to four hours.

Candidates are required to have two valid forms of state or federal identification.
