Hurricane Nicole: Orlando residents, businesses asked to limit water usage

ORLANDO, Fla. — The City of Orlando is asking people to limit water usage during Tropical Storm Nicole.

The request comes as city lakes, wastewater systems, and grounds are still overwhelmed from Hurricane Ian.

Officials ask that residents help lessen the impact on overtaxed systems by limiting water use whenever possible including:

Flushing toilets

Doing laundry

Washing dishes

Taking showers/baths

Using irrigation systems

The goal is to ease pressure on an already overworked system.

City officials had to make a similar request during Hurricane Ian after over-demand caused damage to the sewage system.
