ORLANDO, Fla. — Update:
Tropical Storm Franklin is emerging off the northern coast of the Dominican Republic.
A tropical storm warning is still in effect for much of the country’s coastline as well as the Turks and Caicos Islands, where tropical storm conditions are expected Wednesday evening.
The threat for flooding and mudslides in the Dominican Republic will continue through Thursday.
Eventually, Franklin will strengthen into a hurricane and move west of Bermuda by early next week.
There are no threats to Florida.

Tropical Storm Franklin is impacting the Dominican Republic and Haiti on Wednesday.

Franklin is causing extreme flooding and mudslides in the area over the next 24 hours.
Franklin is forecast to move over the area and eventually form into a hurricane just to the west of Bermuda.
