Tropical storm could form in the next few days, meteorologists monitor 2 other disturbances

ORLANDO, Fla. — Meteorologists are still watching three disturbances in the Atlantic basin.

Potential Cyclone 2 is forecast to pass near the southern Caribbean Sea and the northern coast of Venezuela on Wednesday.

The storm’s winds are near 40 mph, with high-speed gusts.

Some strengthening is forecast during the next few days while the disturbance remains over water.

The system is expected to become a tropical storm while moving across the southern Caribbean Sea.

It has an 80% chance of developing over the next two days.

Meteorologists are also monitoring one slowly developing disturbance near Texas in the Gulf of Mexico.

It could become a short-lived tropical depression near the coast of Texas.

Regardless of development, it will move into Texas on Thursday, bringing heavy rain to southeastern parts of the state.

Another disturbance is located over the central tropical Atlantic.

The system is forecast to interact with another tropical wave over the next few days.

Some gradual development is possible later this week.

All of the storm systems will stay far from Florida.
