Troopers find $70K in Orlando man's car during traffic stop

Troopers found almost $70,000 inside a man's car during a traffic stop in Columbia County on Thursday.

Christopher Lendebol, 25, and Robert Donoso, 25, are facing money laundering and drug possession charges after troopers pulled them over on I-75 near U.S. 41.

A trooper stopped their 2017 Kia Optima because Lendebol was following another car too closely and the Kia had illegal tint, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers searched the car after a trooper and K-9 detected the smell of marijuana.

Troopers said Donoso had marijuana in his pocket and a small plastic bag of marijuana was found in front of the driver seat.

Troopers also found a stack of U.S. money in the glove box and a Timberland shoebox with a large vacuum-sealed bag of money inside in the trunk.

A total of $69,950 was found inside the car.

Lendebol and Donoso, both of Orlando, were arrested and booked at the Columbia County jail.
