ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol said one of its troopers was on his patrol bike when he crashed Friday morning on State Road 417 northbound at mile marker 17 in Orlando.
Troopers said Trooper Jeff Williams was near Boggy Creek Road and had some sort of mechanical issue with the motorcycle. Williams lost control, went off the road and clipped a power pole.
The trooper is at Osceola Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Williams is 35 years old and has been with the Florida Highway Patrol for 14 years.
