Traffic alert: Portions of State Road 408 to be closed overnight in downtown Orlando for 4 days

Public meeting set for possible changes to improve traffic on SR-408 in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Portions of State Road 408 will be closed overnight in downtown Orlando from Thursday through Sunday so crews can install new overhead signs, the Florida Department of Transportation said.

Westbound lanes of the East-West Expressway will be closed between Summerlin Avenue and Orange Blossom Trail from 11 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m.

Westbound lanes will be closed between Summerlin Avenue and Orange Blossom Trail, and eastbound lanes will closed between Orange and Summerlin avenues.

Eastbound SR 408 ramps to Interstate 4 will remain open, and motorists will have access to these ramps during the closure, FDOT said.

All other SR 408 ramps to and from I-4 are scheduled to close.

The closure is scheduled to begin as soon as 11 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.

The eastbound SR 408 entrance ramp at Anderson Street and Delaney Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The eastbound and westbound I-4 Express ramps to SR 408 will also close, the agency said.
