Traffic alert: Portions of SR-408 in downtown Orlando to close overnight this weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. — Heads up if you’re driving through downtown Orlando this weekend: Portions of State Road 408 will be closed overnight Friday through Sunday.

Florida Department of Transportation officials said the closures are needed to install overhead signs.

Eastbound and westbound State Road 408 between Summerlin Avenue and Anderson Street is scheduled to close overnight on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22. Ramp closures at the interchange are scheduled to begin as soon as 11 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning. S.R. 408 closures are scheduled to begin as soon as 12 a.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.

The eastbound S.R. 408 entrance ramp at Anderson Street and Delaney Avenue will be closed through Sunday at 6 a.m.

On Sunday, April 23, only westbound S.R. 408 between Summerlin Avenue and Anderson Street is scheduled to close. The closure is scheduled to begin as soon as 12 a.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning. The eastbound S.R. 408 ramps to Interstate 4 (I-4) will remain open. All other S.R. 408 ramps to and from I-4 are scheduled to close beginning as soon as 11 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.
