Toys for Tots gearing up to help Central Florida children in need

ORLANDO, Fla. — We’re getting closer to the start of the holiday shopping season.

Channel 9 is teaming up with Toys for Tots to make sure every child in need in Central Florida has a gift to open.

Registration is now open in all counties.

Officials said the need this year is greater than ever.

Nearly 200,000 children in our area will benefit from this program.

But right now, something Toys for Tots doesn’t have is a warehouse.

“We need a workshop for all of our elves to be able sort, organize, distribute and collect the toys,” said Sgt. Ash Jacques with Toys for Tots. “We’re looking for something 20-30K square feet and a loading dock.”
