Titusville residents address yards of trash left behind by homeless camps

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Some people in Titusville have been dealing with some unwanted neighbors who have trashed the neighborhood.

Police said the transients who set up camp in a wooded area in the La City community are now gone, but they left behind about 100 yards of trash.

The area is located near Hopkins Avenue near Harrison Street. Now, a community effort is underway to clean it up for good.

Titusville police and code enforcement will be working alongside the La Cita Homeowners Association to make sure they don’t end up with another mess by cracking down on trespassers.

The police department said a blanket trespass warning has been issued, and there are signs all around the property now to prevent further damage.
