Thursday: FEMA Disaster Recovery Center to close in Daytona Beach

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Here’s an important note for Daytona Beach-area residents and business owners seeking federal assistance following Hurricane Milton.

A FEMA Disaster Recovery Center set up at the John H. Dickerson Community Center is set to close on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Volusia County residents impacted by Hurricane Milton who are not able to apply for benefits virtually, are encouraged to visit a DRC in person for help.

At a DRC, residents are able to meet directly with a FEMA representative and other disaster assistance organizations, including the U.S. Small Business Administration and the American Red Cross.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said it saw high demand at this location in mid-November, and after a brief closing, decided to reopen it on Nov. 30.

Hours for the final days at this DRC are as follows:

  • Dec. 18: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Dec. 19: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

The John H. Dickerson Community Center is located at 308 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Daytona Beach.
