The Orange County Sheriff’s Office released video Thursday of detectives walking Javonne White, 19, and Jasmine Munro, 25, to the Orange County Jail.

Both White and Munro are facing carjacking and murder charges and made their initial court appearances Thursday afternoon.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said investigators worked around the clock to catch the suspects in what they described as a “brutal murder” of Uken Cummings.

“Our homicide detectives will not rest until these brazen killers are brought to justice,” Sheriff John Mina said in a recent news conference.

Details outlined in an arrest report suggest the victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Investigators said Cummings was picking up his prescription at a CVS on Silver Star Road in Pine Hills when he was shot and carjacked.

Investigators said after the White and Munro shot Cummings and stole his car, they backed over him and then ran him over again while leaving the scene in the stolen Mercedes.

According to the report, White told deputies “he liked” the victim’s Mercedes and claimed he shot Cummings in self-defense and said he took his SUV because he “panicked.”

The stolen car was later abandoned in Daytona Beach.

“I don’t even understand if they know what they’ve done, what did you even gain out of this?” Cummings son said.

Further details indicate detectives used surveillance cameras, social media and other technology to track down and arrest Munro and White.

Mina said the Cummings’ murder has “shaken the family, obviously, and all of us here at Orange County Sheriff’s Office.”

“To gun down a 78-year-old man, it don’t make any sense,” Cummings’ daughter told Channel 9.

Neither suspect has a criminal history, but detectives said Munro could be connected to dozens of smash and grab robberies in Tampa and Orange County.

“For me they’ll get judged by who they need to get judged by,” Cummings’ daughter-in-law Stacey Cummings said. “Not only did they destroy this family, they destroyed their own.”
