Orlando plans to buy 160 acres in east Orange County

The city of Orlando may buy a roughly 160-acre property in east Orange County.

Orlando City Council on April 25 will vote on the sales contract for the site, which is north of Wheeler Road in Christmas and adjacent Orlando Wetlands Park, which features roughly 1,600 acres of city-owned property.

The property is jointly owned by Twin Cedar 2 LLC and Oak Branch Management Trust, which each have a 50% stake.

The city’s estimate of market value is $960,000, and the contract price is $944,000, or $5,900 per acre.
