The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the most commonly reported symptoms linked to omicron are cough, fatigue, congestion or runny nose.
The omicron variant has led to an explosion in cases, but people are asking if it is more dangerous than the delta variant.

“It’s a very complex question to answer,” data statistician Dr. Eric Solomon said, because at this point, so many people have different levels of protection, ranging from previously being infected to some being vaccinated, or a combination of the two, or boosted.
“You need to compare apples to apples,” Solomon said. “If we can compare how the unvaccinated population with the omicron variant versus the delta variant, it should give us a pretty good idea of whether we’re dealing with a variant of the virus that is more or less likely to make you sick.”
Hospitalizations are creeping up, but not even close to nearing what we saw with delta. The most vulnerable people remain the unvaccinated. Doctors are seeing mostly mild cases in vaccinated patients.
Orange County officials said they test on average 1,500 people a day at Barnett Park, with the same volume at Econ Park and anticipate the same capacity when the new site opens Thursday at South Orange Youth Sports Complex.
